Sowerby Homes

Groundbreaking

The cutting of the first sod has taken place on the final phase of the Sowerby Homes development.

Walking my two Jack Russell's through Nocton Estate on Friday, the sound of heavy machinery echoed through the woodland of Nocton Park, inviting me to have a look at what was going on. Approaching the rear of the flats on Khormaksar Drive, I noticed a heavy digger hard at work behind security fencing, scraping off the top surface of the land in preparation for the new builds which are to be located there. Please note the footpath across the old football pitch is no longer accessible. If you wish to see the plans for this location, I made reference to the final phase of building in an earlier blog.

New road access
A new access road will join the almost completed Phase 2 development to Wegberg Rd. This will need to go over the stream and now appears to be under construction.

Old road access
The current access road to Nocton Park will in time be closed off to vehicles - already the two houses being built in that location are well underway - since this photo was taken they now have roofs and windows are being installed.

As work progresses on the new phase, let's hope Sowerby Homes will finally see fit to complete the surfacing of Nocton Park Rd, thus relieving the residents of continually living on a building site.
