Archaeology for all Ages!

Cogglesford Mill, Sleaford, NG34 7EQ
Dates: Sunday 13 July 2014 - 11am to 4pm.
Cost: FREE

Cogglesford Watermill is thought to be the only Sherriff’s watermill still in operation in England. To celebrate its own history and the fascinating history of Sleaford, the mill is holding an Archaeology Day to explore  Sleaford through the ages. Working with the Old Sleaford Heritage Group and Sleaford Museum Trust  you can learn about an Iron Age mint, see ancient artefacts and find out how important Sleaford was in times gone by. Kids (and adults!) can get hands on too, with our creative activities on offer throughout the day. Get inspiration from genuine Iron Age moulds used to mint coins, then make your own clay mould and  a coin badge as a memento of your day.

The mill will also be in operation, so take a look at how organic wholemeal flour is ground, which you will also be on sale in the shop!

For more information visit www.cogglesfordwatermill.co.uk or ring the mill on 01529 413671 or NKDC Tourism Unit on 01529 308102.
