Nocton Estate

New companies on the scene

There is always concern expressed by local villagers when a large tract of neighbouring land changes hands, particularly after our experience with the application for a 'super' dairy on the Heath by Nocton Dairies Ltd. With much of the old Nocton Estate now being in the hands of Beeswax Farming (Rainbow) Ltd, perhaps we can look forward to a long period of stability for this fine arable land.

It is also good to see the old Nocton Estate rail terminal site and greenhouses being occupied again. The whole site is receiving much attention from the new owners, Munks Agricultural Contractors Ltd, with the verges/hedges of the approach road being kept tidy. This bodes well.

There is another company too, Winchester Growers Ltd who have updated their website to announce they are occupying part of the MAC Ltd, Nocton site, so appear to be 'partners' in making this venture a success. Apart from a lack of signage to indicate they are on-site, with the result of a number of long HGV having to navigate Nocton village to turn around, they appear to be a welcome addition to the site.

May I wish all the new businesses and their partners every success in their recent acquisitions... welcome to Nocton.

  2. Hello Arek - and thank you for your comment. I'm not aware of the current whereabouts of Mr and Mrs Clarke since the sale of their business at Nocton. Sorry I can't assist any further with your enquiry.
